Different trades. The same platform underneath.
Bookka runs the same way for anything booked against a person’s time — but a groomer and a colourist do not describe their week in the same words. These pages are written for each trade rather than translated into it.
For hair salons
A full head of foils and a fringe trim are not the same booking, and a diary that treats them as one slot costs you a chair every afternoon.
Read the pageFor barbershops
Most barbershops run on both: a book that fills up and a door that keeps opening.
Read the pageFor braiders and loctitians
A knotless install is not an appointment, it is a shift — and a no-show on one does not cost you an hour, it costs you the day and everything you turned away to keep it free.
Read the pageFor nail salons
A two-week fill and a fresh set of acrylics are not the same hour, and a soak-off nobody charged for is forty minutes given away.
Read the pageFor lash and brow techs
A client who books a two-week infill and arrives with nine lashes left is a full set in an infill slot, and your whole afternoon pays for it.
Read the pageFor makeup artists
A wedding is not an appointment, it is a morning — a trial months earlier, a five o’clock start, and a number of faces that keeps changing until the week before.
Read the pageFor waxing and laser studios
A half leg, an underarm and a brow tidy booked as one fifteen-minute slot is how a day falls apart by ten in the morning.

For skin clinics
You cannot book a peel for someone whose skin you have not seen, and a client on retinol who did not mention it is an appointment you should not have started.
Read the pageFor massage therapists
A no-show on a ninety-minute remedial is not a gap in the day, it is the day.
Read the pageFor day spas
A spa booking is two scarce things at once: someone to do the treatment and somewhere to do it.
Read the pageFor personal trainers
One-to-one coaching is sold in hours, and an hour cancelled at eight in the morning is an hour that does not come back.
Read the pageFor tattoo studios
Almost no tattoo can be priced before it has been designed, and almost no booking app accepts that — so studios end up taking enquiries in direct messages and deposits by bank transfer.
Read the pageFor piercing studios
A piercing takes ten minutes and the jewellery conversation takes thirty, and the second one is where the money is.

For dog groomers
A matted spaniel and a puppy’s first tidy are not the same booking, and a diary with one slot length for both is how a day turns into an evening.
Read the pageFor home service businesses
A three-bedroom end-of-lease and a weekly tidy are not the same job, and neither of them can be priced from a menu without knowing the house.
Read the pageFor gardeners and lawn care businesses
Two houses on the same street can be an hour apart in work, and no price list knows which is which.
Read the pageFor handymen
Most handyman work is small, and the admin costs more than the job: a call, a text, a drive-by to look, an invoice, a reminder.
Read the pageFor laundries and dry cleaners
Nobody books a wash — they book a time for you to collect, or a window to drop in.
Read the pageFor professional services
Consultants, advisers and agencies sell time and advice, and almost all of it starts with one conversation that has to be arranged before anything can be quoted.
Read the pageFor caterers
A catering enquiry is a date, a headcount and a conversation — none of which fit a booking form built for appointments.

What Bookka is not for
Worth saying plainly, so nobody finds out a month in.
- Trades job management
- Plumbing, electrical, pest control, removals. The work is jobs dispatched to vans rather than appointments against a calendar, and the parts of it that matter most — quotes against a site, recurring service agreements, compliance certificates, technician scheduling — are not what Bookka is.
- Clinical practice
- Anything that turns on patient records, Medicare claiming or clinical notes. Bookka has no intake forms, no consent forms and no health record, so a practice that needs them would be running two systems from day one.
