Booking software for tattoo studios, where nothing can be priced from a menu
Almost no tattoo can be priced before it has been designed, and almost no booking app accepts that — so studios end up taking enquiries in direct messages and deposits by bank transfer. Bookka takes the enquiry properly, holds the deposit against the sitting, and gives every artist their own book inside the one studio.
- No commissionon any booking, on any plan
- From $39 a monthflat, however many staff
- 0% in persononly Stripe’s own rate applies
What tattoo studios put up with
If none of these are your week, you probably do not need us.
- Every enquiry arriving as a direct message with a photo, answered one at a time between clients.
- Deposits chased by bank transfer, logged in a notebook, and argued about when someone cancels.
- A full-day sitting worth a thousand dollars held on nothing but a conversation.
- Artists keeping their own books in their own phones, so the studio has no idea what next week looks like.
- Guest artists in for two weeks with no sensible way to open and then close their availability.
- Aftercare explained while someone is still bleeding, and remembered by nobody.
What changes
Each one is a thing the product does today, not a thing on a roadmap.
Enquiries arrive as quotes, not bookings
Reference images, placement, size and budget come in through your page as a quote request. You answer with a price and the hours you need, and the sitting goes in the book only once both of you have agreed what it is.
The deposit is attached to the sitting
Taken at the time of booking rather than chased afterwards, with the cancellation window shown before payment. A deposit that the system holds is a different thing from a transfer you have to remember who sent.
Full-day and multi-session work fits the calendar
A service carries the hours it genuinely needs, so a six-hour sitting reads as six hours and nothing gets booked over the top of it.
Every artist has their own book
Separate services, rates, hours and clients per artist, with roles deciding who sees the studio’s whole week and who sees only their own. The shop finally has one view of itself.
Guest artists open and close cleanly
Add them as a team member for the residency, give them their own hours and services, and take them off when they leave — without anyone sharing a login or rebuilding the calendar.
Aftercare goes out in writing
Written onto the service so it arrives with the booking confirmation, instead of being a conversation held at the exact moment nobody is listening.
Everything a tattoo studio runs on, in one place
Instead of six artists’ direct messages, a notebook of deposits, a card machine behind the counter and no shared view of next week.
Fill the book
Enquiries arrive mid-sitting, and at eleven at night.
A calendar per person. Every team member has their own services, hours and schedule, with roles deciding who sees what. Chair renters and multi-location shops are handled as first-class cases, not workarounds.
Services with options, add-ons and quotes. Length variants that change the price, add-ons that extend the appointment, and a quote request for the jobs that have to be seen before they can be priced.
Get paid
The deposit when it is booked, the balance when it is finished.
Deposits and cancellation policies. Take a per-service deposit at the time of booking, with the balance due on the day. The customer sees the amount and the cancellation window before they pay, and a cancellation inside the window refunds itself.
A point of sale for walk-ins. Ring up services and retail at the counter, take cash or card, or use a WisePOS E terminal. Bookka charges no fee on an in-person payment — only Stripe’s own terminal rate applies, and cash costs nothing.
Gift cards and an online shop. Sell gift cards and products from your booking page, with pickup or post, and refunds and fulfilment tracked in the same place as your appointments.
Bring people back
A sleeve is a year of appointments, one booking at a time.
Reminders by SMS and email. A confirmation immediately and a reminder before the day, sent automatically. No-shows are mostly a memory problem, and this is the fix for it.
Bookka Rewards. Points for what people spend or stamps for turning up, redeemed against a catalogue you set. Rewards come off the bill at the till and in the shop.
Campaigns, social and ads. Email and SMS campaigns with single-use promo codes, a scheduler that publishes to Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, and a manager for Google and Meta ads.
Run the place
The admin that happens whether or not you have software for it.
Numbers you can act on. Revenue, bookings, your best services and the regulars who have quietly stopped coming — with exports and custom reports when you need to look properly.
An assistant that does the admin. Ask it about your own figures in plain English. Turn on changes and it will complete bookings, record cash, adjust stock and draft campaigns — confirming before each one and logging every change. It cannot cancel bookings, refund anyone or touch billing.
Xero, and the rest of your stack. Native accounting sync with accounts provisioned on connect, calendar sync so your own diary stays right, and Stripe underneath all of it.
Everything tattoo studios need, in one tool
All of it on every paid plan unless the card says otherwise. Where something is limited by plan, the pricing below says so rather than this list hedging each line.
Quote requests with reference images
Placement, size, budget and photos come in as a structured enquiry rather than as a message thread you scroll back through.
Deposits held against the booking
Collected when the sitting is made, with the balance due on the day and the terms shown before anyone pays.
A cancellation window that applies itself
Inside it the refund happens automatically; outside it the deposit stays with the studio, which is the policy every shop already has and few can enforce.
Sittings measured in hours
Half-day and full-day bookings hold the whole block, so a long piece is not interrupted by a walk-in booked on top of it.
An independent book per artist
Own rates, own hours, own clients, with permissions keeping each artist’s numbers to themselves where that is the arrangement.
Guest artist residencies
Added for the dates they are in the shop and removed afterwards, with their own services and availability throughout.
Aftercare in the confirmation
Attached to the service so every client gets the same instructions in writing, whether or not they were listening.
Client notes between sessions
Placement, how they sat, healing, what is planned next — private to the studio and there when the piece resumes months later.
Payment at the counter, 0% from us
Cash, card or a WisePOS E terminal, with no Bookka fee at all, settling into your own Stripe account.
Gift cards and flash deposits
Vouchers sell from your booking page with a tracked balance, redeemable against a sitting or at the counter.
Automatic reminders
Sent before the day by SMS and email, including for sittings booked three months out, which is most of this trade.
Social publishing from the same place
Scheduled posts to Instagram, Facebook and TikTok — the actual shopfront for a tattoo studio — alongside the bookings.
One flat price, not one per chair
No commission on any plan, including clients who find you through the marketplace. Paid plans start with a 14-day trial.

Yes, by treating the enquiry and the booking as two steps. Custom work comes in as a quote request carrying the reference images, placement, size and budget; you reply with a price and the hours you need; and only then does a sitting go into the calendar with a deposit against it. A menu of fixed-price services is optional — plenty of studios only publish flash and small walk-in work that way.
The deposit is taken when the sitting is booked, not chased afterwards, and the client sees your cancellation window before paying. Cancel inside the window and the refund is automatic; outside it, the deposit stays with the studio. The useful part is that it was agreed at the time of booking, so there is nothing to litigate later and nobody has to find out who sent which transfer.
Yes. A service holds whatever duration you give it and the calendar protects the entire block, so a full-day piece cannot have a lunchtime appointment dropped into the middle of it. This is where general booking apps built around thirty-minute slots tend to start fighting you.
Yes. Each artist has their own services, rates, hours, calendar and clients, and roles control who can see the studio’s whole week versus only their own column. Where artists rent a chair rather than being employed, the Executive plan supports that arrangement properly rather than through shared logins.
Add them as a team member with their own services and availability for the dates they are in, and remove them when they leave. Business covers five people and Executive twenty, with extra staff at $14.95 a month — so a guest spot is a small change rather than a plan upgrade.
Yes, by attaching them to the service so they go out in the booking confirmation. Many studios also put them in the reminder. What Bookka does not have is a scheduled follow-up message a few days after the appointment, so a healing check-in is still something you send yourself.
No. There is no consent form, no digital signature and no ID capture in Bookka. Those stay on paper or in whatever you use now. If a single system for consent and booking is what you are shopping for, this is not it — and that is worth knowing before you look any further.
No commission on bookings, on any plan, including clients who find you through the marketplace. There is a free plan for five bookings a month, then Business at $39 a month for up to five people and Executive at $69 for up to twenty. Online card payments cost 2.2% + 30c, all in and GST inclusive on Australian cards. In person Bookka takes nothing at all — you pay only Stripe’s own rate — and cash, your own EFTPOS machine and a gift card being redeemed cost nothing. Everything settles into your own Stripe account rather than ours.
