Booking software for home service businesses, where the quote comes before the key

A three-bedroom end-of-lease and a weekly tidy are not the same job, and neither of them can be priced from a menu without knowing the house. Bookka takes the enquiry with the detail you need, puts the access notes where the person doing the work can read them, and takes payment without an invoice chase.

What home service businesses put up with

If none of these are your week, you probably do not need us.

  • Quotes given over the phone from a description, then found to be an hour and a half short.
  • Access details — the lockbox code, the side gate, the dog — passed on by text each time.
  • Jobs allocated to whoever answers, with no shared view of who is where.
  • Invoices sent after the work and paid a fortnight later, if chased.
  • Bond cleans and regular visits sharing a price list that suits neither.
  • A customer list that exists as a phone’s contacts and nothing else.

What changes

Each one is a thing the product does today, not a thing on a roadmap.

Jobs you have to see first are quoted

End-of-lease, deep cleans and anything priced by condition come in as a quote request with photos and detail, and you answer with a real figure and a real duration before it goes in the diary.

Standard work books straight off the page

Where you can price by bedrooms or hours, put it on your booking page with those as options — each setting its own price and its own time — so a routine job is booked without a phone call.

Access notes live with the customer

Lockbox code, parking, the side gate, the dog that bites, what not to touch. Notes and tags on the customer record, private to the business, so whoever turns up already knows.

A schedule the whole team can see

Each person has their own calendar and hours, so who is at which address is visible to the office rather than held in one person’s head.

Paid on the day, not a fortnight later

Card or cash at the door on a phone, or a deposit taken when the job was booked. Bookka takes nothing on an in-person payment, and the money arrives without an invoice to chase.

A customer list that is actually a list

Every job, every address, every note against the customer, with reporting that shows who has not booked lately and campaigns to reach them.

What you get

Everything a home service business runs on, in one place

Instead of a phone full of contacts, a quote on a notepad, an invoicing app and a group chat deciding who goes where.

Fill the book

Bookings arrive while you are on someone’s hands and knees, and at eleven at night.

Online booking, on your page and in the marketplace. Your own booking link plus a profile customers can find by service and suburb. You choose whether bookings confirm instantly or wait for your approval.

A calendar per person. Every team member has their own services, hours and schedule, with roles deciding who sees what. Chair renters and multi-location shops are handled as first-class cases, not workarounds.

Services with options, add-ons and quotes. Length variants that change the price, add-ons that extend the appointment, and a quote request for the jobs that have to be seen before they can be priced.

Get paid

The deposit when it is booked, the balance at the door.

Deposits and cancellation policies. Take a per-service deposit at the time of booking, with the balance due on the day. The customer sees the amount and the cancellation window before they pay, and a cancellation inside the window refunds itself.

A point of sale for walk-ins. Ring up services and retail at the counter, take cash or card, or use a WisePOS E terminal. Bookka charges no fee on an in-person payment — only Stripe’s own terminal rate applies, and cash costs nothing.

Gift cards and an online shop. Sell gift cards and products from your booking page, with pickup or post, and refunds and fulfilment tracked in the same place as your appointments.

Bring people back

The house that books you every fortnight is the whole business.

Reminders by SMS and email. A confirmation immediately and a reminder before the day, sent automatically. No-shows are mostly a memory problem, and this is the fix for it.

Bookka Rewards. Points for what people spend or stamps for turning up, redeemed against a catalogue you set. Rewards come off the bill at the till and in the shop.

Campaigns, social and ads. Email and SMS campaigns with single-use promo codes, a scheduler that publishes to Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, and a manager for Google and Meta ads.

Run the place

The admin that happens whether or not you have software for it.

Numbers you can act on. Revenue, bookings, your best services and the regulars who have quietly stopped coming — with exports and custom reports when you need to look properly.

An assistant that does the admin. Ask it about your own figures in plain English. Turn on changes and it will complete bookings, record cash, adjust stock and draft campaigns — confirming before each one and logging every change. It cannot cancel bookings, refund anyone or touch billing.

Xero, and the rest of your stack. Native accounting sync with accounts provisioned on connect, calendar sync so your own diary stays right, and Stripe underneath all of it.

Everything home service businesses need, in one tool

All of it on every paid plan unless the card says otherwise. Where something is limited by plan, the pricing below says so rather than this list hedging each line.

  • Quote requests with photos

Condition, size and access captured before you price, so the figure you give is based on the house rather than the description of it.

  • Size and hours as priced options

Bedrooms, bathrooms or booked hours behind one service, each setting its own price and duration so the diary matches the day.

  • Add-ons for ovens, windows and carpets

Chosen at the time of booking, each adding its own time to the job rather than to the afternoon.

  • Access and property notes

Codes, gates, pets, parking and standing instructions on the customer record, private to the business and ready before anyone arrives.

  • A calendar per cleaner

Own hours, own jobs, own availability, with roles deciding who sees the whole run and who sees only their own day.

  • Deposits on the big jobs

Set per service, so a bond clean is held and a regular visit is not burdened with one, with the cancellation window shown before payment.

  • Automatic confirmations and reminders

By SMS and email, so the customer is expecting you and the day does not start with a locked door.

  • Paid at the door, 0% from Bookka

Card or cash on a phone, or a WisePOS E terminal, with no Bookka fee at all — only Stripe’s own rate, and nothing on cash.

  • Runs from a phone

The dashboard works on a phone, so the schedule, the notes and the payment are all available from the van.

  • Gift cards and vouchers

Sold from your page with a tracked balance — a clean bought as a present is a real part of this trade.

  • Customers who have gone quiet

Reporting that names them and campaigns with single-use codes to bring a list of them back at once.

  • No commission on any job

Your own booking page plus a marketplace profile, with Bookka taking no percentage of what the job is worth.

Booking software for home service businesses, answered

No, and this is the first thing to weigh. Bookka has no recurring bookings, so a standing fortnightly clean is booked each time rather than repeating on its own. You can book a run of dates ahead with the customer, and a regular can rebook from your page in a few taps, but there is no schedule that generates itself. If recurring work is the backbone of your business, be clear-eyed that this is manual today.

Take it as a quote request rather than a booking. The customer sends the detail and photos through your page, you come back with a price and the hours you need, and only then is it in the diary. For the work you can price reliably — a three-bedroom regular clean, a set number of hours — publish it with size or duration as options so it books directly.

On the customer record as notes and tags, private to the business. The code, the side gate, where to park, the dog, what the owner does not want touched. Whoever is doing the job can see it before they arrive instead of asking in the group chat. Be aware the notes are per customer, not per property — a customer with two addresses needs that distinction written into the note.

No. Bookka schedules people against bookings; it does not optimise a route, track a van, or push jobs to a field app with a start-and-finish timer. If you are running a dispatch operation with technicians moving between unplanned jobs, you want a job management platform instead. Bookka suits booked work at known times.

Yes, on a phone — card or cash — or with a WisePOS E terminal. Bookka takes nothing on an in-person payment and cash costs nothing either, so the job closes when you leave rather than when an invoice is eventually paid.

Yes. Deposits are set per service, so a bond clean can carry a meaningful one while a regular visit carries none. The customer sees the deposit and your cancellation window before paying, and inside the window the refund is automatic.

Yes. Each cleaner has their own hours, calendar and jobs, and roles decide who can see the whole run. Business covers up to five people and Executive up to twenty, with extra staff at $14.95 a month past the included count. What it will not do is timesheets, award rates or payroll.

No commission on bookings, on any plan, including customers who find you through the marketplace. Free for five bookings a month, then Business at $39 a month for up to five people and Executive at $69 for up to twenty. Online card payments cost 2.2% + 30c, all in and GST inclusive on Australian cards. In person Bookka takes nothing at all — you pay only Stripe’s own rate — and cash, your own EFTPOS machine and a gift card being redeemed cost nothing. Everything settles into your own Stripe account rather than ours.
