Booking software for waxing and laser studios, where three areas is three bookings’ worth of time

A half leg, an underarm and a brow tidy booked as one fifteen-minute slot is how a day falls apart by ten in the morning. Bookka adds up the areas as they are chosen, holds the longer sessions with a deposit, and keeps the skin notes where whoever is in the room can read them.

What waxing and laser studios put up with

If none of these are your week, you probably do not need us.

  • Three areas booked as one appointment, at the length of the shortest one.
  • Clients arriving between laser sessions at four weeks instead of six, then again at ten.
  • Skin type, medication and last fluence written on a card in a drawer, or not at all.
  • The first-time client who books a Brazilian without knowing what the appointment involves.
  • Short-notice cancellations on a room that could have been filled twice over.
  • A price list so long — every area, every combination, waxing and laser — that nobody can find anything on it.

What changes

Each one is a thing the product does today, not a thing on a roadmap.

Areas add their own time as they are picked

Each area is an add-on with its own minutes and its own price, so a client choosing three of them books the time three of them take. The room stops being double-sold by the booking form.

One service, not a price list nobody reads

Where the difference is just the area or the size, those become options behind a single service, so your page shows a short menu starting “from $25” instead of forty lines.

Skin notes stay with the client

Private notes and tags for skin type, medication, reactions and what you used last time. Visible to your room, never to her, and still there when someone else is treating.

Deposits on the long and the first-time

Set service by service, so a full-body laser session or a new client carries one and a five-minute lip wax does not. The cancellation window is shown before payment and applied on its own afterwards.

Preparation said once, sent every time

Shaving, sun exposure, retinol, length of regrowth — written onto the service so every confirmation carries it, instead of being a message you remember to send to some people.

The cycle is visible

Your numbers show who has not been back and for how long, so a laser client who has quietly stretched past her window is something you can see rather than something you find out about a year later.

What you get

Everything a waxing and laser studio runs on, in one place

Instead of a booking app, a card reader, a paper client card and a price list that takes three screens to scroll.

Fill the book

Bookings arrive while you are in the room with someone, and at eleven at night.

Online booking, on your page and in the marketplace. Your own booking link plus a profile customers can find by service and suburb. You choose whether bookings confirm instantly or wait for your approval.

A calendar per person. Every team member has their own services, hours and schedule, with roles deciding who sees what. Chair renters and multi-location shops are handled as first-class cases, not workarounds.

Services with options, add-ons and quotes. Length variants that change the price, add-ons that extend the appointment, and a quote request for the jobs that have to be seen before they can be priced.

Get paid

The deposit on the session, the balance in the room, and the aftercare on the way out.

Deposits and cancellation policies. Take a per-service deposit at the time of booking, with the balance due on the day. The customer sees the amount and the cancellation window before they pay, and a cancellation inside the window refunds itself.

A point of sale for walk-ins. Ring up services and retail at the counter, take cash or card, or use a WisePOS E terminal. Bookka charges no fee on an in-person payment — only Stripe’s own terminal rate applies, and cash costs nothing.

Gift cards and an online shop. Sell gift cards and products from your booking page, with pickup or post, and refunds and fulfilment tracked in the same place as your appointments.

Bring people back

Six weeks becoming twelve is a course that never finishes.

Reminders by SMS and email. A confirmation immediately and a reminder before the day, sent automatically. No-shows are mostly a memory problem, and this is the fix for it.

Bookka Rewards. Points for what people spend or stamps for turning up, redeemed against a catalogue you set. Rewards come off the bill at the till and in the shop.

Campaigns, social and ads. Email and SMS campaigns with single-use promo codes, a scheduler that publishes to Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, and a manager for Google and Meta ads.

Run the place

The admin that happens whether or not you have software for it.

Numbers you can act on. Revenue, bookings, your best services and the regulars who have quietly stopped coming — with exports and custom reports when you need to look properly.

An assistant that does the admin. Ask it about your own figures in plain English. Turn on changes and it will complete bookings, record cash, adjust stock and draft campaigns — confirming before each one and logging every change. It cannot cancel bookings, refund anyone or touch billing.

Xero, and the rest of your stack. Native accounting sync with accounts provisioned on connect, calendar sync so your own diary stays right, and Stripe underneath all of it.

Everything waxing and laser studios need, in one tool

All of it on every paid plan unless the card says otherwise. Where something is limited by plan, the pricing below says so rather than this list hedging each line.

  • Areas as add-ons that stack

Each one contributing its own minutes and price, so three areas books three areas’ worth of room time.

  • A short menu for a long price list

Size and area kept as options on one service, which keeps your booking page readable and your prices in one place to edit.

  • Waxing and laser side by side

Both run as ordinary services with their own durations and rooms, so a studio doing both is not running two systems.

  • Skin and treatment notes per client

Type, medication, reactions, settings used last time — private to the studio and readable before the client is on the bed.

  • Preparation notes in every confirmation

Attached to the service itself, so what she has to do beforehand goes out automatically to everyone who books it.

  • Deposits on the sessions that hurt to lose

Chosen per service, so the long bookings and first-timers are held without making a quick top-up feel transactional.

  • Automatic reminders by SMS and email

A confirmation at booking and a reminder before the day — the practical answer to a short-notice cancellation problem.

  • A room and a therapist per calendar

Each person has their own services and hours, and roles decide who can see the whole day.

  • Aftercare and gift cards at the counter

Ingrown treatments and SPF ring up beside the service, or sell through your online shop with pickup or post.

  • Points or stamps for the regulars

Bookka Rewards against a catalogue you set, taken off the bill at the counter.

  • Payment in the room, 0% from Bookka

Cash, card or a WisePOS E terminal, with no Bookka fee on an in-person payment and the money in your own Stripe account.

  • Who has slipped out of the cycle

Reporting that names the clients overdue a session, and campaigns with single-use codes to bring a list of them back at once.

Booking software for waxing and laser studios, answered

Still curious? Get in touch — we reply fast.

Yes, and this is the thing a general booking app usually gets wrong. Areas are add-ons, and each carries its own duration as well as its own price, so selecting half leg, underarm and brow produces one appointment as long as the three of them together. The room is booked for the time you actually need rather than for the length of whichever one she picked first.

Put size and area behind options on a single service instead of creating a service for every combination. Your booking page then shows a handful of lines, each reading “from” its cheapest option, and when you put prices up you edit one place. Studios that model every permutation as its own service end up with menus clients give up on.

On the client record as notes and tags that belong to the studio and are never shown to her. Fitzpatrick type, medication that affects treatment, reactions, and what you used last session. Worth knowing: Bookka has no clinical consent form she signs before treatment and no structured treatment chart — the notes are free text, and anything you are required to have signed still has to live somewhere else.

Yes. Put them on the service — shaving, sun exposure, stopping retinol, how much regrowth you need — and they go out in the booking confirmation to everyone who books it, without you remembering. That is usually enough to stop the appointment where the client is not in a state to be treated.

Take a deposit on the services where the loss is real, with the cancellation window shown to the client before she pays. Inside the window the refund happens on its own; outside it, you keep the deposit, and because it was agreed at booking it is not a conversation. Bookka has no waitlist that automatically fills a gap, so refilling a cancelled slot is still something you do by hand.

Not as a package or a membership — Bookka has neither. A gift card is the nearest equivalent: the client can buy one and draw it down across bookings and retail. If prepaid courses are how your laser business is actually sold, treat that as a genuine gap rather than something to design around.

Yes. The free plan covers five bookings a month, Business is $39, and the dashboard runs on a phone, so a one-room studio is the same job as a multi-therapist one. Bookka takes nothing on a payment taken in person — only Stripe’s own rate applies.

No commission on bookings, on any plan, including clients who find you through the marketplace. Free for five bookings a month, then $39 a month for up to five people and $69 for up to twenty, with extra staff at $14.95 and extra locations at $19.95. Online card payments cost 2.2% + 30c, all in and GST inclusive on Australian cards. In person Bookka takes nothing at all — you pay only Stripe’s own rate — and cash, your own EFTPOS machine and a gift card being redeemed cost nothing. Everything settles into your own Stripe account rather than ours.
